Beth
Artist
A flinty New Englander turned DC beltway "insider," Beth turned to knitting, painting and art in general for sanity's sake. After a career as a Marine and then as a school administrator she has found a passion and talent for teaching and training. She teaches knitting and sewing classes in a variety of settings from private and small group sessions to larger workshops and retreats. She can also be found in schools, summer camps and youth programs. She specializes in Accessible Knitting, including instruction for the blind, visually impaired, learning disabled, and those suffering memory loss, dementia and other unique challenges to knitting and crafting. She promotes peaceful leisure and therapeutic knitting for veterans and other populations. She also offers "teach the trainer" and coaching sessions to instructors interested in tailoring their teaching to unique populations. Art workshops are also available to all ages. Beth has 40 years of machine sewing experience, and has been knitting and teaching for 18 years.
She lives in the greater DC area with her husband of 25 years, with whom she successfully raised, homeschooled and launched their two daughters.
Beth confesses a love of dogs, gardening and cooking, which will be evident when you visit her Instagram feed. Catch up with her on Instagram at @knitwithus and @bethcanpaint
